You’ve been making a huge mistake while shopping for razors

A SAVVY shopper has revealed one of the main mistakes that women make when buying razors - and how to fix it.

With summer now in full swing, some of us are shaving almost on a daily basis - which can work out quite pricey if you replace razors regularly.

But according to one whizz, it's easily avoidable if you follow her tips - and it will also save you heaps of money in the long run.

The guru, Kathryn Leech, insisted that rather than forking out for razors designed for women, you should be purchasing men's razors.

She explained that typically, ''men's razors are way better than the women's''.

Not only will the blades leave your skin feeling extra smooth and silky, but gents' razors are usually cheaper than women's.

The so-called 'Pink Tax' pushes prices up nearly 13 per cent, The Balance reported, with the same product targeted at men costing less.

This includes everything from body gel to shampoos, conditioners, skincare - and of course, razors.

In 2019, Daily Mail found that Gillette charges more for women's razors than for men's.

In Woolworths, for instance, a Gillette Fusion razor with five blades cost a little under £11, whilst he cult favourite Gillette Venus razors with the same count of blades would've set you back by more than £13.

But apart from the hefty price difference that adds up over time, are there any other differences between the two?

Of course, there's the packaging, which over years has remained aggressively masculine and feminine, with men's razors typically in black or grey.

However, according to Life Savvy, there are other dissimilarities - and even the heads of the razors are shaped differently.

For instance, when women jump into the shower, they will usually shave different parts of their body than men - and razor heads take this into account.

On a razor designer for women, you will typically find a more rounded head - this makes shaving armpits of the back of the knee easier.

As well as having a more rounded handle shape and blades in different angles, women's razors come with built-in lubrication.

This extra feature, which men's razors have either none or very little of, help protect from cuts around more delicate areas, such as ankles and knees.

All this being said, there are plenty of designs and features to choose from - and if you prefer the blades for men's razors, by all means go for it - it'll work out cheaper anyway.

Kathryn, who regularly shares money-saving advice on her TikTok, posted the tip in a video where she listed three items to never buy at Boots.

These included cotton pads, as well as a shower gel that not only is super ''runny'' but also ''barely lasts a week'', she said in her video.
